28 Sep Jeff Helm promoted to Chief Information Officer
Youth Opportunity Center, Inc. recently announced the promotion of Jeff Helm to Chief Information Officer. Helm has been with YOC for 15 years, most recently serving as the Director of Information Technology & Facilities for the past nine years.
In this newly developed role, Helm will help achieve organizational goals in two primary ways. He will oversee and ensure all information and communication systems are secure and reliable. He will also take on responsibility for accurate, timely, and actionable data reporting to improve the performance of the organization.
“The YOC is fortunate and proud that Jeff chooses to apply his significant abilities to our mission,” stated Youth Opportunity Center CEO, Rick Rowray. “His new role will increase the YOC’s ability to effectively respond to a more complex service environment and ultimately better our work with the kids we serve.”
Helm has 22 years of experience in the information technology industry. He earned his Master of Science degree from the Center for Information and Communication Sciences at Ball State University. Before joining YOC, he worked in the Automation Department of the Indianapolis-Marion County Public Library system and later in IT management positions in the for-profit sector. Committed to technical education, Helm was an instructor and chair of the Computer Information Systems Program at Ivy Tech’s ECI region, served as an Ivy Tech adjunct instructor, and has conducted training courses at the Indiana Women’s Prison and for the Department of Workforce Development.
Helm is a member of the Association of Information Technology Professionals (AITP) where he is a Past President and current board member of the ECI Chapter. He currently serves as Vice-Chair of the board of Hillcroft Services. He is also a member of Whitney Lodge #229 F&AM. He and his wife Tammy have two children.
