24 Jan Transforming Together: The Next Chapter Capital Campaign raises more than $4.8 Million for Youth
The YOC and the YOC Foundation announced the successful conclusion of the Transforming Together: The Next Chapter Capital Campaign on Tuesday, January 23, 2018 at Vera Mae’s restaurant with more than 90 supporters and friends in attendance. Campaign Chairperson Kelly Stanley announced that the campaign exceeded its original goal of $4,250,000 by 13% and raised $4,808,659.22 to support children at the YOC.
Stanley remarked, “I am honored to have chaired this important capital campaign that will help vulnerable children in our community and across Indiana not only today but in the future. This campaign will provide the necessary resources for kids to receive the treatment and services they desperately need. Working on this campaign has been very meaningful for my wife Donna and I, and we are humbled by the support of so many individuals and organizations. For us and the staff at YOC this campaign was “For the KIDS”.
“Every day, scores of kids at the Youth Opportunity Center take steps toward becoming more self-aware, learn healthier ways to work with their family and others and develop greater self-esteem, trust, and responsibility. Every day, youth are incrementally changing their lives with help from our dedicated team,” stated YOC CEO Rick Rowray. “This transformation doesn’t happen without generous support like we have witnessed through the Transforming Together Campaign. We are so grateful.”
Funds raised through the campaign will positively impact the YOC, now and in the future. Funding priorities include:
- Enhancing treatment programs;
- Renovating residential programs and campus facilities;
- Investing in staff training and credentialing; and
- Decreasing original debt obligations to free up funds for programming.
“The support from individuals, corporations, and foundations in our community and across Indiana has been incredible. We are so grateful for the meaningful gifts given by so many to help our children. The need for private support, through this campaign and on an annual basis, is vital for the YOC’s ability to transform the lives of youth,” stated YOC Foundation Executive Director, Polly Craig.
